The Lincoln Bible, part of the Library of Congress collections, was last on display in 2009 in the exhibition “With Malice Toward None: The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Exhibition.” The Lincoln Bible will join other treasures in “The Civil War in America,” including the final draft of Lincoln’s First Inaugural Address; the original pasted-up reading copy of Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address and Lincoln’s first draft of the Emancipation Proclamation. These original documents will be on view through Feb. 18. Twice each year, the Library of Congress opens its magnificent Main Reading Room for a special public open house. The spring open house will take place on the federal Washington's Birthday (Presidents’ Day) holiday, Mon., Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
